Parcel Tax Measure S

On June 5, 2018, the voters approved the passage of the Hope School District Measure S Parcel Tax. A parcel tax exemption is available for qualified seniors who are 65 years of age or older and for persons receiving Supplemental Security Income for disability, regardless of age.

On November 8, 2022, voters approved a 5-year extension of Measure S starting July 1, 2023.

To qualify for a senior exemption from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024:

You must be the beneficial owner and taxpayer for your home (or parcel).

You must use the home (or parcel) as your principal residence. Landlords are not exempt. The beneficial owner has the title in his/her name. The title may also be held for your benefit by a trustee or other fiduciary who acts on your behalf.

Once you have applied and been approved for an exemption, it will remain in effect for each year. You do not need to reapply every year.
